The very cute and cuddly Fiat 500 was born way back 60 years ago – and by the looks of it you wouldn’t tell it’s actually apt for grandparenting in the real world.
Be that as it may, people should remember one of the most iconic models of the automotive history – the original Fiat 500 – was officially showcased on July 4, 1957 in Turin, Italy. Six decades have passed, reason for the Italian brand to celebrate this milestone with a special series with limited availability, and because we’re dealing with a Peninsula brand, we’re getting an appropriate name – “Anniversario.” The new special edition can be had for both body styles – coupe and cabrio – and come with a series of styling tweaks that of course remind us of its predecessor with classic cues.
Owners can select two new-old colors (Sicilia Orange and Riviera Green), inspired by the ancestor, and can also fit them with 16-inch retro wheels that can even be had with a diamond look as a nod to the spokes of the iconic model. There’s also a mandatory “Anniversario” badge fitted to the tailgate. Moving inside, Fiat opted for a 1960s ear influence, coming with a body-colored dashboard, fabric seats with horizontal stripes “in perfect Sixties style” complemented by an “Anniversario” logo on the floor mats.
The vibe contrasts the modern elements – seven-inch instrument cluster and infotainment screen of the same size with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with navigation system with TomTom maps.Fiat is already happy to enhance buyers to the 500 Anniversario, allowing anyone to choose it from the entire powertrain range, which is quite complete, with gasoline, diesel, or an LPG-compatible unit and with power ranging from 69 to 105 horsepower.
