Fiat aims to make the most of the trend appeal of its 500 supermini with a version styled by top Italian fashion house Gucci.
First mentioned back in February, the car has been customised by Gucci to celebrate 150 years of Italian unification and the 90th anniversary of Gucci. Two variations will be available, a 1.2-litre model for £14, 565 and the 0.9-litre TwinAir model, which will set you back £15,765. Both will be available online, first come first served, later this month.
“The 500byGucci will enlarge the audience for the already successful Fiat 500, reaching those fashionista customers who want to have a unique car to distinguish themselves,” stated Elena Bernardelli, marketing director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK. “And the on-line sales process adds another dimension to the individuality of this special model, creating an even greater sense of exclusivity and exceptional customer service.”
The car has essentially been customised by Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini and features a two-tone black and white interior, or white exterior with Satin Chrome and black interior. It all sounds very ‘Gucci’ but no doubt those buyers looking to make a more individual statement with their car will love it.
Fiat has previously successfully used online sales for its Fiat 500 Pink and Fiat 500 Matt Black special editions.
