Fiat has recently pulled the wraps off a new version of the 500 model, named the Turbo, during the Concorso Italiano in Monterey, California, which has a base starting price of 19,500 USD.
According to the Italian based automaker, the Fiat 500 Turbo has been designed to slot just below the 500 Abarth and the model can be distinguished by its aggressive front fascia, revised side skirts, rear diffuser, sports exhaust system, rear diffuser and 16-inch aluminum wheels. Interior changes include the sport seats, the revised steering wheel with silver stitching, the new gear knob, the Beats audio system with six speakers, subwoofer and amplifier and that’s about all.
Under the hood, the Fiat 500 Turbo is getting a 1.4 liter turbocharged engine, which is developing a total output of 135 horsepower (137 PS / 101 kW) and it has a peak torque of 150 lb-ft (203 Nm), 34 HP and 52 lb-ft (70 Nm) more than the standard model. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission which is allowing an improved acceleration and top speed, but Fiat isn’t saying anything about the 500 Turbo’s performance for the moment.
