The Fiat 500X and the Jeep Junior have been caught on camera by our spy photographers in the Alps, where the two models were being tested.
The development of two compact SUVs by Fiat and Jeep is no longer a surprise as these models were hinted a few months ago and even confirmed for production by the Italian based automaker. The two vehicles will be known as the Fiat 500X and the Jeep Junior and they will be riding on the Small Wide platform and they are expected to be put into production sometimes next year.
The engine options in the two new vehicles are believed to be carried over from the Fiat 500L and this means that we will see the 105 HP 0.9L TwinAir Turbo, the 160 HP 1.4 liter MultiAir Turbo and the 105 HP MultiJet II turbo diesel. Fiat has announced that the new 500X will be assembled in the Melfi plant. The Jeep Junior will be sold globally. Additional details on the two compact Fiat and Jeep vehicles are currently limited for the moment and will probably be announced sometimes next year, close to their debut.
