The subcompact Italian crossover – a technical brother to the Jeep Renegade – has decided to bring in more clients in the United States with the new fashion-conscious Urbana Edition.
Fiat’s new special series is a styling package purposely created for the rugged Trekking trim – which incidentally it’s also the 500X’s top selling versions. The Urban Edition flavor can be had for an extra $845 on both front- and all-wheel-drive variants, and comes with a stylish exterior design. It features a black finish for the side mirror caps, door handles, and the front and rear lights, while the 18-inch alloy wheels get a matte black finish, along with the roof rails, liftgate bezel, and both front and rear fascias. The only available colors are Blue Sky Metallic, Grigio Graphite, Nero Cinema, and Bianco Gelato – and the extra visual flourishes include copper accents on the wheel’s center cap as well as on the “500X” logo.
The cabin continues the black on copper theme, with darker fabric upholstery, copper “500” logos, black textured instrument panel – also with a copper “500” logo – and additional dark accents all around the interior. The 500X Urbana Edition can also cost more if you add things such as a cold weather package ($450), the 6.5-inch Uconnect infotainment for $875, and the $995 Popular Equipment Package. There’s also the obvious $1,295 Advanced Safety Package, with the 500X Urbana Edition reaching US dealerships sometime this fall.
