A few patent images with the Fiat 500X have recently made their way onto the web, providing us with a first look into the upcoming Italian crossover.
The development of the Fiat 500X isn’t a surprise for anyone as the model has been confirmed by the Italian based automaker but now, the company’s plans of keeping its design a secret have shattered, as a few patent images are showing its body. The photos in question have been posted by auto.sohu.com and they are revealing the model from several angles.
The upcoming Fiat 500X will be developed alongside a new entry-level Jeep model and both vehicles will be produced in Melfi, Italy, by Fiat, starting form this year, in 1,600 units daily. The Fiat 500X will get a more contoured shape while the Jeep Junior, as it is currently being known, will get a boxier look and, judging by recent spy photos, it will resemble the Nissan Cube.
The Fiat 500X, along with its Jeep cousin, are believed to ride on the same stretched Fiat 500L platform which will provide enough room for five people. As far as the engine lineup goes, the two models will probably get a 0.9 liter TwinAir Turbo, a 1.4 liter MutliAir Turbo and a 1.6 liter MultiJet II turbo diesel under their hoods. More details on the Fiat 500X are limited for the moment.
