Fiat 500X might be unveiled in Geneva
The Italian based automaker Fiat is planning to introduce the final production version of its crossover, the 500X, to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, next month.
Rumors on Fiat developing a crossover based on the 500 have been around ever since mid-2012 and now the model is ending up in our news once again, this time with a rumor which is saying that it might be unveiled, in a premiere, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, in March. The new Fiat 500-based crossover will be named the Fiat 500X and the model will share its Small Wide platform with a new entry-level Jeep model.
The Fiat 500X is expected to be more than 4 meters long and to be able to transport up to five adult passengers. As for the engine lineup, expected the 1.4 liter TwinAir gasoline unit, which should generate a total output of 93 HP. All-wheel drive and front-wheel drive will be offered throughout the range, along with Multijet diesel engines. Additional details on the Fiat 500X are limited for the moment and will be announced during the Swiss automotive event, if the carmaker decides to unveil it there.
