The brand new Fiat 500X crossover has been recently spied on the road as the model in question will be making its world debut this October, during the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
Fiat has already released a couple of images with the body of the new 500X so the development of the crossover is no longer a surprise. The model in question is a combination of the 500 city car and the 500L MPV and it basically looks like a larger 500, despite being basically a brand new vehicle. The Fiat 500X will be sharing the platform, the assembly line and some other bits and pieces with its American brother, the Jeep Renegade.
The Italian based automaker will be offering the 500X with rounded headlights and taillights which basically means a tribute paid to the original Cinquecento. As far as the engine lineup goes, European customers might get the 1.4 liter turbo in multiple stages of tuned or the 1.6 liter diesel, while Americans will get a 1.8 liter four-cylinder unit. The company will unveil its new crossover on the 4th of July, in order to mark the 57th anniversary of the original 500 model. More details on it will probably be announced during the French automotive event, this fall.
