Fiat invites us inside the new compact van Freemont, a model that takes the lines from Dodge Journey and brings them in Europe under the Italian brand. In short terms, it looks exactly like Dodge.
Set to go on sale in June on the European market, the Freemont is revealed by a complete walkaround that will mostly show a few interior and exterior differences as compared with the Dodge Journey (the U.S. model upon which the Freemont is based on).
The Detroit-design, Mexican-made, Fiat Freemont will be offered with some European tech, though. That would be the 2.0-liter MultiJet diesel engine with 142 PS (104 kW / 140 bhp). A 172 PS (127 kW / 170 bhp) variant of that unit will follow too with an all-wheel drive Freemont. Fiat will also offer Chrysler’s 3.6-liter V6 petrol with 280 PS (206 kW / 276 bhp).
The vehicle will be available in two trims – the Freemont and the Urban – and will be sold with a price tag of €25,700 ($37,000) for the base Freemont model and €27,200 ($39,170) for the more upscale Urban version.
