The Fiat Group is getting ready to launch the Jeep brand to India next year where the first models to go on sale will be the classic Wrangler and the new Grand Cherokee.
After launching the Jeep brand to China, the Fiat Group is getting ready to find more customers for its cars and the latest Asian country to receive Jeep vehicles will be India, through the Italian based automaker’s Indian arm, the Fiat Group Automobiles India Private Limited (FGAIPL), as the Jeep brand has officially announced. The first Jeep models to arrive in India will be the brand new Grand Cherokee and the classic and popular Wrangler.
“Our vision for India will revolve around a three-pronged strategy. First, introduction of new vehicles that will soon include the legendary Jeep brand. Second, the expansion of our independent dealer network and, finally, strong marketing initiatives that will continue to improve our awareness and brand perception in the market”, said Mike Manley, the Fiat-Chrysler Asia Pacific COO and Jeep brand boss.
The Fiat Group will launch the Jeep brand in India in late 2013 and at the time of the launch, the automaker will distribute the SUVs through a network of dealers in 25 cities. Additional details on the Jeep brand in India will be announced close to the brand’s launch.
