The Italian based automaker Fiat is currently working on a new generation of the affordable Linea as this is said to hit the market over the next few months.
After being in production since 2007, the Fiat Linea is currently getting ready to receive a successor which will basically be the second generation of the car. The sub-compact model, which is riding on the GM Fiat Small platform is currently being put together in Brazil, in India, in Russia and in Turkey and it seems that the facility in Turkey is currently working on a successor for the car. While it still remains a popular car in emerging markets, on the Old Continent people are waiting for a successor which should take the model to a new level.
The Fiat Linea used to be one of the best-sellers vehicles made by the Italian based company in Europe and rumor has it that testing a successor of it has already begun. The new generation of the car should be riding on the Small Wide platform made by the Fiat group, which is also used on models such as the Jeep Renegade and the Fiat 500X, in the sub-compact segment for crossovers. Using a common platform will keep the production costs low and at its exterior design it should get redesigned front and rear fascias, LED daytime running lights, new lighting units, LED taillights and several other tweaks. The engine lineup will probably e updated, along with the transmission options too.
