The Fiat Panda 4×4 has been recently awarded with the Top Gear SUV of the Year 2012 award after managing to surpass every prestigious model out there.
It seems that James May was on to something when he said that the Fiat Panda is one of his favorite cars and because everyone has his/her own taste in cars, we don’t have to say anything about this. The new Fiat Panda 4×4 has managed to win the prestigious SUV of the Year 2012 award from Top Gear Magazine, after it managed to kick models like the new Range Rover, the Audi Q7 or other all-wheel drive SUVs right in the face.
“It’s good off-road. Sure, it might not have fancy locking diffs, but there’s a clever electronic traction system, ample ground clearance and a low first gear. Traction on slopes is remarkable, partly because the tyres are suitable, and partly because the Panda is light enough that there isn’t much gravitational pull to defy. But it’s got other talents. Long motorway hauls aren’t torture if you opt for the six-speed TwinAir version. And it’s so compact it’ll weave between trees and rocky obstacles that defeat the galumphing full-size off-roaders”, said the Top Gear judging panel.
The all-new Fiat Panda 4×4 has scooped its first major international award. The Top Gear panel journalists have placed the model in question ahead of every competitor out there, no matter how much more capable or expensive it was. So next time you will see a Panda 4×4 on the road, remember, is the Top Gear 2012 SUV of the Year.
