The Italian based automaker Fiat has recently announced that the new Viaggio will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show.
According to the car manufacturer, the Fiat Viaggio is actually a compact sedan which has a lot of things in common with the Dodge Dart, including the same platform named the CUSW or Compact US Wide. The Fiat Viaggio is 4, 679 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and it has a wheelbase of 2,708 mm, being “the new C-segment benchmark”, as the company is saying in its official press release.
“Viaggio (voyage in English and its Chinese name Fei Xiang meaning flying) is the first Fiat-Chrysler twin project which brings to life an all-new world class vehicle with high levels of refinement and craftsmanship that breaks the mould in China’s compact segment”, as the automaker is saying.
Power to the all-new Fiat Viaggio will come from the company’s 1.4 liter T-Jet engine, which will offer two outputs, 118 horsepower and 148 horsepower, mated to either a five-speed manual gearbox or a dual-clutch transmission. The MultiAir unit is also expected to power the model, with its 160 HP and 184 lb-ft of torque, the same configuration as in the Dodge Dart. More details on the vehicle will be announced in Beijing, later on this month.
