The first production 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 has been sold for a whopping 650,000 USD, during the Barrett-Jackson auction.
Just like one of the Camaro’s main competitors, the Ford Mustang, which has sold the first production 2014 model year version at Barrett-Jackson recently, the Camaro Z/28 has received the same “recipe”, which assured it that the muscle car in question received 650,000 USD. Keep in mind that this is the first production 2014 Camaro Z/28 and all proceeds will go to the Cornerstone Schools.
“In a city with the lowest graduation rate in the country there is one school in Detroit that boasts a 95 percent graduation rate and where 91 percent of its students pursue higher learning after high school. That school is Cornerstone Schools in Detroit”, as it is being said in the press release.
The Camaro Z/28 is taking its power from a 7.0 liter LS7 V8 engine, which is producing a total output of 500 HP (373 kW) and 637 Nm (470 lb-ft) of torque. The model has managed to lap the Nurburgring faster than the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, than the Porsche 911 Carrera S (991) or the Audi R8 V10, in just 7 minutes and 37.47 seconds. Prices for the Camaro Z/28 have been set at 75,000 USD, including the 995 USD destination charge.
