The French based automaker Citroen is planning to introduce its first ever DS SUV during the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, later on this month.
According to the French based automaker, the very first SUV made by the company will receive a DS version, three years later than initially expected. The model in question is teased in the image posted above and this should announce its public debut during the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, on the 21st of April. The new DS SUV signed by Citroen will get a premium look because the carmaker wants to battle with more popular models.
The Citroen DS SUV might be named the DS X and the model should rival the Mercedes-Benz GLK, the BMW X3, the Audi Q5 or the Volvo XC60, so the French designers and engineers will have a tough job. The new DS X will probably get a wide range of both diesel and petrol engines under its hood, along with a choice of either a front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive. The final production version of the Citroen DS X is expected to make its way onto the market over the following three years.
