800, 000 USD is the amount raised by the first example of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible at the Barrett-Jackson auction, in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The 2015 Barrett-Jackson auction has found a new owner for the first examples of the Shelby GT350R and the Cadillac CTS-V, sold for 1,000,000 USD and 170,000 USD respectively, and not time has come to talk about yet another performance vehicle, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible. The model in question, also in its first unit, has managed to find its first owner, who has paid no less than 800,000 USD before being declared the winning bidder.

The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has been officially introduced back in 2014 and the shipping of it has started in the past few weeks. The sports car is taking its power from the same 6.2 liter V8 supercharged engine, found under the hoods of both versions, rated at 650 HP (485 kW) and 881 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque. The unit is connected to a 7-speed manual or to an 8-speed automatic transmission, offered as an option. The quarter mile takes 10.95 seconds with the manual and 11.2 seconds with the automatic and from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h), the model needs just 2.95 seconds with the automatic gearbox and 3.2 seconds with the manual.
