Renault has announced that the first Fluence Z.E. has been delivered in the United Kingdom.
According to the French based automaker, the first Renault Fluence Z.E. in the UK has been bought by London’s largest eco-friendly car services, Climatecars and Greentomatocars, and each company actually got two examples in metallic and silver.
“We’re delighted to have taken delivery of our first fully Electric Vehicles and have already taken bookings for 40% of our EV capacity with orders from corporate customers for Zero Emission shuttle services. We fully intend to add more Zero Emission vehicles to our 250-strong fleet this year, said the co-founder and managing director of Greentomatocars, Jonny Goldstone.
“The addition of the fully electric Renault Fluence Z.E. to Climatecars fleet marks a crucial step towards our aim of being the world’s first zero emission car service. We are really excited to have partnered with Renault and are looking forward to offering a 100% electric car service to our customers”, added the founder and MD of Climatecars, Nicko Williamson.
As a reminder, the Renault Fluence Z.E. is an electric version of the Fluence compact executive sedan and it was originally unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The model is coming in a four-door body style, with a front-engine and a front-wheel drive layout. Power is coming from a 70 kW (94 HP) synchronous motor which is “helped” by a 22 kWh lithium-ion battery.
