The second generation of the flagship full-size SUV Q7 has been recently released by the German automaker, the second-largest premium carmaker in the world. Now it’s time for the first promotional video.
Using the visual aids of modern technology, the VW AG subsidiary promotes its latest release by claiming the model “sets new standards” and comes choke full of “innovative technologies, driving assistance and infotainment systems”. Audi also doesn’t forget to remind us that its brand new generation has been on a diet and dropped up to 325 kg (716.5 lbs) – making it thoroughly lighter than the predecessor and in line with the industry’s latest trends to increase the usage of aluminum. Thanks to the technological improvements, the new generation is up to 26% more efficient than the outgoing model, also emitting up to 50 grams /km less CO2.
The new Q7 is available with a full range of engines, including the well-known 3.0-liter TDI diesel engine that can release 218 PS (160 kW) and 500 Nm (368.8 lb-ft) or 272 PS (200 kW) and 600 Nm (442.5 lb-ft). Gasoline lovers get to experience the 3.0 TFSI with 333 PS (245 kW) and 440 Nm (324.5 lb-ft) or if they want the most efficient version can opt for the 2.0 TFSI with 252 PS (185 kW) and 370 Nm (272.9 lb-ft). We shouldn’t forget the plug-in hybrid diesel-electric offering, the e-tron quattro that has 373 PS (275 kW) and 700 Nm (516.3 lb-ft).
