Fisker seems to be on top of the wave and with the success of the Karma and besides the unveiling of the Ferrarii FF lookalike Surf at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the “green” automaker is preparing a convertible version which will be named Sunset.
The Fisker Sunset Convertible is not a stranger and it has already seen an international auto show, being presented at Detroit’s NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) and through the voice of the company’s CEO, Henrik Fisker, it seems that the new model is scheduled for production, being expect sometimes in 2013.
The Sunset Convertible is currently powered by a four-cylinder engine mated to an electric drive motor, delivering a total output of 403 horsepower and 981 lb-ft of torque, but comes as a surprise is when all of this torque is available: from 0 rpm.
Fisker says that its new Sunset Convertible will have a range of over 300 miles, being also able to travel 50 miles on pure electric, but when shifted into the sport mode it will hit 60 mph from standstill in about 6 seconds, providing the pure fun of a sports car combined with the low fuel consumption of a hybrid.
The “green” automaker didn’t provide a price for its third car but considering the fact that the Karma costs between $95.900 and $108.900, it’s expected that the Sunset will be in the six-figure zone.
