The Japanese based automaker Suzuki is planning to present the five-door version of the Swift Sport at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show, where the model could be offered in this form on the local auto market and Europe will get only the three-door shape.
Suzuki still doesn’t know whether the five-door Swift Sport will be offered in Europe too, but one thing is for sure, the model will go on sale pretty soon in Japan and it seems that customers who wanted the five-door version on the Old Continent will have to settle to the three-door one.
According to the Japanese based automaker, the five-door Suzuki Swift Sport is using the same engine as the three-door version, the 1.6 liter which is generation 136 horsepower. The cabin gets the same changes as the three-door Swift Sport, as well as the exterior design gets the same sporty lines. The five-door Swift Sport is coming with some interesting standard features like ABS, ESP and seven airbags, among many other things.
AS a reminder, the three-door version of the Swift Sport has debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year, in September, and the 1.6 liter engine was generating a peak torque of 160 Nm at 4.400 rpm, compared to the previous version which was offering 148 Nm and 125 HP.
