An expensive and very rare example of the Porsche 918 Spyder is currently looking for a new owner in the United States who will have to pay 1,649,000 USD before taking his new ride home.
The Porsche 918 Spyder, the McLaren P1 and the Ferrari LaFerrari have turned out to be great investments as second-hand ones appearing on the market are more expensive than brand new models. But, then again, considering the fact that all of these have been already sold out and the demand is still high, prices will only go one direction – up. This particular example of the Porsche 918 Spyder, finished in a dark blue shade, is currently being offered for sale in the United States. The asking price stands at 1,649,000 USD, which is almost twice as it was worth when it rolled off the assembly line.
The hypercar is getting the Weissach package, the bright green brake calipers, the silver and black wheels, the front axle lift system (10,500 USD), the special seatbelts with accent stripes (1,800 USD) and the carbon fiber floor mats with silver piping (1,725 USD), amongst others. The Weissach package basically means improved performance as it is helping the supercar reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 0.2 seconds faster than the standard one, to 2.6 seconds and it can reach 200 km/h (124 mph) in 0.5s faster, at 7.2 seconds. Pass the 300 km/h mark, the model is 2.1 seconds faster. Power is provided by the same 4.6L V8 engine and the two electric motors, producing 887 HP (661 kW) and 1,275 Nm (940 lb-ft) of torque.
