The North American based automaker Ford has recently announced that the 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine has arrived in Australia with the EcoSport crossover.
After announcing just a few weeks ago that the Ford EcoSport will become a global model, the carmaker is keeping its promise and it’s announcing that the crossover has arrived in Australia. Besides the Ford EcoSport being launched in Australia, the company has also announced that the 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine has arrived in the country too, under the hood of the same crossover.
“The 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine has already been voted the 2012 International Engine of the Year and is continuing to receive rave reviews in Europe. It will be the perfect complement to our EcoBoost family of engines, which are already available in the Mondeo and Falcon, as well as the new Focus ST”, as the Ford Australia President and CEO, Bob Graziano, said.
According to the car manufacturer, the Ford EcoBoost engine is developing a total output of 125 horsepower and it has a peak torque of 170 Nm, available between 1,300 rpm and 4,500 rpm. The unit is emitting under 140 grams of CO2 every km. The Ford EcoSport with the 1.0L EcoBoost engine will make its Australian debut during the Australian International Motor Show.
