Today, May 14th, Ford announced the election of four new vice presidents for the Board of Directors.
Jeff Wood has been chosen as vice president of Manufacturing, Ford of Europe, beginning June 1st, replacing Mike Flewitt, who left the company to pursue other career interests. Gary Johnson was chosen vice president of Manufacturing, Ford Asia Pacific and Africa, Kumar Galhotra is vice president of Product Development, Ford Asia Pacific and Africa and Marin Burela is president of Chang An Ford Mazda Motor Company.
“Today’s appointments speak both to the wealth of talent we have within Ford and our commitment to deliver our global plan for great products, a strong business and contributions to a better world,” said Bill Ford, Ford’s executive chairman. “We are fortunate to have such a capable global leadership team to implement and achieve the full potential of our plan.”
Wood joined Ford in 1988 as a plant engineering supervisor at Ford’s Norfolk Assembly Plant, since then holding different leadership positions such as plant manager of Ford’s Michigan Truck Plant, director for Global Manufacturing Quality, and director of manufacturing for Truck Operations. Johnson Joined Ford in 1986 in the position of supervisor at Ford’s Auto Alliance International plant in Flat Rock, Mich., Galhotra joined the company in 1988 as a design engineer, and Burela joined Ford in 1984 as an Engineering Ford College Graduate.
