Ford and Baidu recently signed a partnership deal to offer their customers more in-car applications.
Ford and Baidu will bring together the best of Ford SYNC AppLink and the technology of the world’s largest Chinese language search engine to offer their customers the best in-car app experience. The two companies are also considering bringing together Ford SYNC AppLink™ and Baidu Cloud services, which also include the Baidu Location Based Services. All theses will be accomplished so that customers could have access to more innovative services.
“At Ford we are allowing customers to access their favorite content while driving using voice controls, so they can keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel,” said Joe Xia, Product Planning and Development Manager, Connected Services, Ford Asia Pacific . “By working closely with Baidu, we will be able to develop more features for our vehicles and look at ways to further improve the ownership experience.”
With this new partnership, Ford will introduce new apps, including Baidu Maps and Baidu Voice Assistant, which are activated by using a smartphone. Ford SYNC AppLink allows customers to use their voice to activate and operate Baidu Voice Assistant, without getting distracted from driving. Drivers can ask information about weather, traffic conditions and their current location, read messages and voice dictation.
