Ford has recently announced its plans to introduce the popular 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine on the Fiesta on its local auto market.
New car buyers in the United States, who are looking for a small and economic hatchback, will soon get the chance to order the Ford Fiesta, equipped with a 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine. The announcement has been made by the carmaker recently and this has been described to the “America’s most fuel-efficient non-hybrid gasoline-powered car”.
“With the new Fiesta 1.0-liter EcoBoost we’re pushing into fuel economy numbers only seen on hybrids and diesels. Coupled with the new Fiesta ST, Fiesta covers the performance-efficiency continuum in the subcompact segment better than any other nameplate in the market”, said Joe Hinrichs, the Ford Executive vice president.
The Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost is powered by the 1.0 liter three-cylinder gasoline burner, which is producing a total output of 123 HP (91 kW) and it has a peak torque of 169 Nm (125 lb-ft), or 196+ Nm (145+ lb-ft) with overboost. This configuration is allowing the model to return 32 / 45 / 37 mpg in city / highway / combined when the model is equipped with the SE Manual EcoBoost Package, adding the low-rolling resistance tires, the underbody shields, the rear spoiler and the side air deflectors.
