Rampage – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson latest star title – is set to hit theaters on April 20, 2018, and we’ll apparently get the chance to see the Ford Bronco concept in there as well.
While it’s been officially introduced no less than 12 years ago at the Detroit Auto Show, the impressive Ford Bronco concept is still something that looks ready for production even in 2017. That being said, the Hollywood blockbuster might have needed something that looks both rugged and belonging to another time period, with the new movie Rampage being a revival of the iconic video game with the same name, which was first made available for the world way back in 1986. In it, giant monsters were busy destroying cities and leaving piles of rubble. It’s an action-packed blockbuster, and Dwayne Johnson seems to use the two door SUV concept as his vehicle of choice, with co-star Naomie Harris at his side.
We do know the Bronco nameplate will finally be revived by Ford – but it won’t look like the concept and also won’t be in time for the April next year arrival of the movie, because it’s not expected to come anywhere before 2020. That being said, rumors about the model have exploded since the official reintroduction announcement – and the most feasible ones put a turbocharged EcoBoost engine with more than 300 horsepower (223 kilowatts) in its belly.
