The North American based automaker Ford has recently announced two milestones, one of them being the 1 millionth car produced in Flat Rock and the other the model’s 50th anniversary.
“Mustang is one of the most beloved nameplates in the industry, with fans around the world and throughout Ford Motor Company. The team here at Flat Rock Assembly has built an outstanding reputation for quality while producing one million Mustangs over the last nine years, and we expect that to continue for many years to com”, said Raj Nair, the company’s vice president for global product development.
The original Ford Mustang has been introduced back in 1064 and it turned out to be more popular than everyone has expected. Now, the 1 millionth model produced in Flat Rock, a convertible finished in Ruby Re, has just rolled off the assembly line, and it was driven by the factory’s logistics and material planning manager, Ed Salna, and by Raj Nair. Besides the 1 millionth car produced, Ford is also celebrating the muscle car’s 50th anniversary. Ford has managed to sell over 8.5 million Mustangs worldwide, and this number will increase once the new generation will make its way onto the market.
