The North American based automaker Ford has recently announced its plans to introduce the EcoSport next week, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
The Ford EcoSport is getting ready to become a global model and the next market in which it will be launched will be Europe. According to the car manufacturer, the model will debut on the Old Continent next week, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Even if the announcement has been officially made, Ford didn’t release any details on the European version of the EcoSport, so we will have to wait for the Swiss automotive event in order to find out more about the small crossover.
In other markets, the Ford EcoSport is getting a 1.0 liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine, which is producing a total output of 118 HP (88 kW) and 170 Nm of torque (125 kW), available between 1,300 rpm and 4,500 rpm. The unit is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Rumors are saying that this configuration will become available for the EcoSport in Europe too, on the entry-level version. By the mid-decade, the Fiesta based SUV will be sold in 100 markets worldwide.
