After being officially presented at the 2011 edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show, in September, the North American based automaker Ford has decided to show its new Evos Concept at the next year’s International Consumers Electronic Show in Las Vegas, offering its local “audience” a glimpse of the plug-in hybrid gullwing doors vehicle.
“The car gets to know you can act as a personal assistant to handle some of the usual routines of a daily commute. The Evos concept changes the paradigm of how you interact with your car. Our vision is that the car should seamlessly adapt to the driver, taking the driving experience to a whole new level of personalization and convenience”, said the Ford chief technical officer, Paul Mascarenas.
As you probably know already from the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Evos Coup has the Ford grille mounted in a high position, slim front headlights with LEDs and a small air intake, giving it an upmarket look, but the most interesting features are definitely the gullwing doors.
The Evos is using the same petrol-electric powertrain as the C-Max Energi Hybrid which is scheduled to go on sale in 2013, with a 2.0 liter engine and an electric motor, combined by a system which makes the two work together or separately to maximize efficiency, giving the Concept a range up to 500 miles.
