The Ford Fiesta has been the best-selling small car in Europe for the third year consecutive in 2014.
Ford is becoming more and more popular on the Old Continent where its Fiesta model has turned out to be the best-selling small car for the third year in a row, in 2014. According to the car manufacturer, no less than 308, 999 units have been sold and one of the most popular versions was the Fiesta 1.0 liter EcoBoost, which has the award winning 1.0L unit under its hood, producing 100 HP or 125 HP in the more powerful version.
“Cutting-edge styling and advanced technology are the keys to Fiesta’s continued popularity and models like the distinctive, two-tone Red and Black Editions with the new 140 PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine continue to keep Fiesta ahead of the pack”, said the vice president of Marketing, Sales and Service from Ford of Europe, Roelant de Waard.
The Ford Fiesta has been around ever since 1976, when the first generation has seen daylight. Now, the sixth generation has been in production since 2008 and thanks to a facelift applied recently, it became even more interesting to its customers. The small city car is being produced at this time in Spain, Germany, China, Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Venezuela, Taiwan and Brazil and it is offered in a 3-door hatchback, 5-door hatchback and 3-door van body styles. The B-segment car has a choice of six petrol burners and two diesels, which can be connected to a 4-speed automatic, a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed Power Shift.
