Ford Focus completely renewed

Auto Bild magazine has presented the way that Ford Focus will look like in 2010. As you can see, Ford prepares for 2010 a completely redesigned Focus, powered by the very latest EcoBoost range of turbocharged engines and surprise! : iDrive/Command like control system. Moreover, Ford wants to introduce in the same time a Focus-based coupé to compete against latest Megane and Scirocco from VW.

AS you can see from the attached photo, designers from Ford had created an prominent bonnet with lines that run from the base of the windscreen to form an overhanging focal point for the Ford badge. Influences from the latest Fiesta designs will be present in the latest Focus: the angular C-pillars and chunky stance… Inside higher quality materials than the current version will be used. For improving the car ergonomics, engineers will create a control system similar to Mercedes Command or BMW’s iDrive.

Base model will be powered by an powerful 1.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine ( 89hp or 108hp ), but probably most buyers will choose the 1.6-litre turbo unit ( 148hp or 178hp ).

Focus will go on sales in late 2010, with a three-door coupé arriving in the same year, plus an estate and CC coupé cabrio appearing in 2011. At this time we have no price info.
