The Blue Oval’s Ford Performance division has decided the 2018 Ford Focus RS is in need of some specialty equipment to make enthusiasts crave for more – so here’s the new Option Pack.
The hot hatch enthusiast should feel right at home in one of the 1,500 examples built for the United States and Canadian market – mostly because the model adds a limited-slip front differential. Those looking for something more glamorous will also be on point – thanks to the new shade of crimson. The model also comes with a different design for the Nitrous Blue shade – which is specific to the Focus RS – via contrasting black accents and a new dual-color interior upholstery. While these additions will enhance style and maneuverability, Ford Performance hasn’t actually upped the performance criteria – so there’s still 350 hp on tap and that smart AWD traction system.
Ford did say it used lots of input from brand enthusiasts and actually a group of fans has been invited for the video preview of the model – also meeting Gymkhana star Ken Block himself in the process. “To satisfy strong demand for the ever-popular Focus RS, we have spent a great deal of time listening to our customers, speaking to owners’ club members, reading comments and suggestions on enthusiast websites, and even studying various forum Photoshop renderings,” comments Henry Ford, Ford Performance marketing manager.
