Ford Focus RS making U.S. debut in New York image

Ford has announced the debut of the new Focus RS generation in the United States which will be made during the 2015 New York Auto Show, next week.

The brand new range-topping version of the Focus, the Focus RS, will be making its American debut next week, during the 2015 New York Auto Show, as the carmaker has recently announced. The model in question will be presented in the Big Apple and it will be arriving in dealerships in about one year, so if you are interested in it, you should prepare for the long wait.

“Customers have begged for the Focus RS to come to the United States for years. And now we can say that they are getting one of the most innovative, powerful and best-looking RS cars ever. That is special”, said Raj Nair, the Global Product Development vice president within Ford Motor Company.

The 2016 Ford Focus RS has been officially presented to the public during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, a few weeks back. The model has an aggressive body kit and a 2.3 liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, the same one used on the mid-range Mustang, in its new generation. The total output of the unit is said to stand at 350 HP (257 kW) and more than 433 Nm (320 lb-ft) of torque. This hasn’t been confirmed officially at this time but power is being sent to the all-wheel drive system. More details on the hot hatch will probably be announced in New York.
