The North American based automaker Ford is planning on introducing the brand new Focus RS at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show (NAIAS), next month.
After several spy shots and reports have popped onto the web over the past few months with the new range topping version of the Focus, the Focus RS, the model in question is now just around the corner as a public unveil is expected to be made next month, during the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), in Detroit. The announcement hasn’t been made official yet and it is currently part of a report published by Road and Track.
The 2016 Ford Focus RS is believed to be riding on a completely new platform. Various reports are indicating that the hot hatch will be maintaining its front-wheel drive, but then again, coping with a lot of power may turn out to be difficult, so don’t act too strange if you will see an all-wheel drive Focus RS. The model will be taking its power from the same 2.3 liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine used on the new Mustang generation, which will be producing approximately 325 HP (239 kW) – 350 HP (275 kW). More details on the hot hatch are limited at this time and will probably be announced in Detroit.
