Ford Focus RS to be unveiled on February 3 image

One of the most awaited hot hatches of the year, the Ford Focus RS, is getting ready to be officially unveiled on the 3rd of February, as the company has recently announced.

The 2016 Ford Focus RS is being highlighted once again, probably for the very last time, as the company is announcing its official unveil which will take place on the 3rd of February and will be live streamed and hosted by Jim Farley, the Ford Europe boss, and by Raj Nair, the vice president of Global Product Development.

“The all-new Ford Focus RS will be previewed at a special presentation in Cologne, Germany, at 12:45 on 3 February. The preview takes place at a unique venue in Ford’s European headquarters, where the RS badge first debuted 48 years ago”, said the carmaker in the official press release.

The new generation of the Ford Focus RS will be getting a more aggressive body kit, with modified front and rear bumpers, different front fenders, a tweaked hood, a rear spoiler, a rear diffuser and some other modifications which will be enough to help it differentiate from the ST. Under the hood of the hot hatch, the 2.3 liter four-cylinder engine will be resting, the same one from the Mustang EcoBoost, which will produce between 325 HP (242 kW) and 350 HP (261 kW), being connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. We are not sure at this time whether the new Focus RS will get AWD or the same FWD.
