The new Ford Focus ST has achieved 32 mpg on the highway as the North American based automaker recently announced.
“We’re putting the ‘power’ in the power of choice, again. This is just one more example of the ‘win-win’ in the Focus ST narrative. This kind of performance combined with these high levels of efficiency sets a new benchmark with this car”, said the Ford Group vice president of Global Product Development, Raj Nair.
According to the car manufacturer, the new Ford Focus ST is more fuel efficient than its rivals like the MazdaSpeed3 or the Volkswagen Golf GTI. The new generation of the Focus ST gives up 3 mpg on the highway when compared to the old one but gains 112HP and 134 lb-ft of torque, as the company says in its official press release.
The new Ford Focus ST takes its power from a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbo engine, which is producing a total output of 250 HP, with a peak torque of 265 lb-ft. The hot hatch’s unit is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and the model can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 6.5 seconds, before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. The starting price of the new Ford Focus ST in the U.S. has been set at $24,495.
