Ford India recorded its highest-ever single day of bookings during the popular ‘Midnight Sale’ campaign on Sunday, with more than 4,000 sales made at showrooms across the country, the U.S based automaker said.
“This uniquely designed ‘Midnight Sale’ is an initiative to make the car buying experience a more convenient and rewarding one for our customers while allowing them more flexibility,” said Nigel E. Wark, Ford India’s executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service.
During Ford’s unique ‘Midnight Sale,’ Ford’s showrooms in India remained open from 8 am till midnight and offered attractive interest rates and prizes on the purchase of every Ford car – LED TVs, Camcorders, smartphones and DVD players worth up to INR 2 crore (approximately US$ 372,370 – total).
The previous editions of the midnight sale organized by Ford India have been very successful with sales going through the roof on those days. Many dealers have reported of sales increases of 3 to 4 times during the midnight sale.
Ford India revealed earlier this week that their domestic car sales for the month of April 2012 has declined by 1.6% as they sold 7,201 cars compared to 7,319 cars sold in the month of April 2011.
As far as exports are concerned, Ford India registered an increase of 103%, as they exported 2,368 cars compared to just 1,167 cars exported in April 2011.
