Ford’s latest Mondeo range, now available in UK dealerships, features a new high-tech 1.6-litre direct injection turbo petrol EcoBoost engine.
With this new engine, the 2011 Ford Mondeo will deliver 41mpg.
This new 1.6-litre engine joins the 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine which was introduced across all Ford’s large cars earlier this year. Sharing the same direct-injection, variable valve-timing and turbo-charging, the new 1.6-litre version, produced at Ford’s Bridgend Plant in Wales, is also available on the new Ford C-MAX MPV range.
In five-door form, the 2011 Ford Mondeo equipped with the 1.6-litre 160PS EcoBoost engine and six-speed manual transmission is capable of 134mph, while returning 41.5mpg (combined) and emitting 158g CO2/km.
