Famous American tuner Hennessey has officially pulled the wraps off its own version of the Ford Mustang GT, which has received some impressive figures.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat now has some serious competition in the shape of the Ford Mustang GT by Hennessey. The model in question has been recently unveiled and it claims to be able to reach a top speed of 335 km/h (208 mph). The top speed test has been conducted by Brian Smith, a professional driver, at Continental Tire Proving Grounds, on a high-speed oval, 8.5 miles long, which is found in Uvalde, Texas. The speed test was validated with Racelogic’s VBox 3i GPS data logging system.
The new Ford Mustang GT by Hennessey is making use of the same V8 engine but this has been equipped with the latest HPE750 package and it is now capable of putting down a total output of 774 HP (577 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 878 Nm (648 lb-ft) of torque, available at 4,400 rpm. Thanks to these modifications, the 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint is done in a supercar time of 3.4 seconds and the quarter mile takes 10.9 seconds, at 133 mph (214 km/h). According to the tuning company, the Hennessy Ford Mustang GT will be offered in only 500 supercharger kits. Unfortunately no pricing details have been announced at this time.
