Ford is looking to introduce an all-wheel drive version of the Focus RS, along with the F-150 SVT Raptor, at the upcoming 2015 Detroit Motor Show.
Rumors on Ford developing the new Focus RS with front-wheel drive just as before are starting to fade out as more and more reports are indicating that the hot hatch will be offered with all-wheel drive. According to the guys from Edmunds, the model in question will be introduced at the upcoming 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), in Detroit, which will be opening its gates next month.
The 2016 Ford Focus RS will be packing the same 2.3 liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine as the mid-range Mustang, but this is expected to be slightly more powerful, by about 20 or 30 HP. It is not known as this time whether the North American based automaker will be offering a front-wheel drive version of the new Focus RS, but if it will, than this will probably be less powerful.
Besides the new hot hatch, Ford will also introduce the new off-road SVT Raptor, which will be based on the new F-150. The model will be competing with the Toyota Tundra, Ram 1500, Nissan Titan or Chevy Silverado and it will have increased off-road capabilities. More details on it will be announced at the same 2015 NAIAS.
