Ford recalling Focus in China for its ignition problem image

Recently, Ford has announced that it will recall a total 236, 643 Ford Focus cars in China, as the car is facing certain ignition problems. If the recall really happens, then it will be the largest recall for the partnership between ChangAn Automobile Co, Japan’s Mazda Motor Corporation, and certainly the Ford Motor Company.

The Focus models that are actually been recalled were built between 18th August 2008 and 28th May 2010. Within this time period, the models do not possess the quality of ignitions, which it should have been. This information has been revealed as per the statement made by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China. The recall has been finalized in response to some 2 percent of customers, who reportedly complained about their car stalling, after traveling at low speeds. Well, these two percent means a lot for the company, who cannot take any kind of risks or chances.

The vehicle that is Ford Focus has been built by a venture among Ford, Mazda Motor Corp. of Japan, and Chongqing Changan Automobile Co. The purpose of recalling all of aforesaid number of models is to install the new engine calibration software, which will be incorporated in the cars, so that it could correct the problem. All this information has been given by Ford spokewoman Whitney Foard Small. The installation of this new engine calibration software will performed free of charge.

This three way joint venture of three companies is called ChangAn Ford Mazda Automobile Co. In this, ChangAn Auto has owned 50 percent of the company, whereas, Ford owns 35 percent, and Mazda owns the lowest 15 percent. After the recall, the companies have received a jerk, which will take a little time to heal. Those who have already purchased the Ford Focus model and are facing the ignition problems can make it clear by installing the software.
