Ford reported its best hybrid sales quarter with 21, 080 vehicles sold, the first time the company surpasses the 20,000 milestone.
This quarter Ford offered for the first time all its four new hybrids and plug-in vehicles, which are the C-Max Energi, the C-Max Hybrid, the Fusion Energi and the Fusion Hybrid. The record sales were reached thank to the increased demand for the C-MAX hybrids and Fusion hybrids. The hybrids’ smart technology, fuel efficiency and all-new design attract a new group of customers, with three out of four hybrid buyers coming from other brands.
According to data published by Edmunds.com, the all-new Ford Fusion Hybrid is already surpassing the Toyota Camry Hybrid, while the C-MAX Hybrids are seen as equaling the Toyota Prius. The C-MAX Hybrids competes with the Prius and the Honda CR-V. Ford’s hybrids are also attracting a younger wave of customers, with on in five Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Energi buyers being under 36 years old.
Customers are also lured with the technology offered by these models, with 70% of the Fusion Hybrids offering the MyFord Touch package, 31% of them are fitted with BLIS and Lane-Keeping System and 12% of the customers choosing the active park assist.
