Ford Shelby GT introduced in L.A. image

Shelby American has officially pulled the wraps off the new Shelby GT, in a premiere, during the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Muscle car lovers, or better said Ford Mustang lovers and Shelby American enthusiasts, can now order the brand new Shelby GT, in the United States, which has been recently introduced during the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. The model in question is based on the 2014 Ford Mustang GT and it’s coming with a new front fascia, with a billet grille, a fiber glass hood, a short shifter, 20-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in BFG G-Force Comp2 tires and a Ford Racing suspension system, amongst others.

The 2014 Shelby GT is taking its power from a 5.0 liter V8 engine, which is producing 430 HP (320 kW), 10 HP (7 kW) more than the standard car, thanks to the sports exhaust system and new air intake. The GT/SC is adding a supercharger which is allowing the engine to produce 525 HP (391 kW) or even 624 HP (465 kW). The most powerful version of the Shelby GT can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7s and it can do a quarter mile in approximately 11 seconds. Prices for the Shelby GT package are set at 14,995 USD, while the Shelby GT/SC package costs 27,995 USD.
