Ford will launch this weekend a major new European advertising campaign related to the 2013 UEFA Champions League.
Ford of Europe relies on the highly-expected 2013 UEFA Champions League Final football match which will take place on Saturday, May 25th, to launch its new advertising campaign, under the worldwide positioning entitled “Go Further”, which was unveiled in 2012. The new strategy emphases the technology used in Ford’s products instead of focusing on individual nameplates.
The match is expected to be watched by 150 million people in Europe, and the premier boards on the Wembley Stadium in London will direct viewers to the automaker’s new web site, which includes information about the popular technologies, as well as entertaining videos. Each commercial ends with a scroll of Ford technologies and features and highlights the one which is the subject of the ad.
“The UEFA Champions League Final has a bigger TV audience even than the Super Bowl,” said Roelant de Waard, vice president of marketing for Ford of Europe, in a news release. “It’s the perfect opportunity to present the Blue Oval to millions of European customers as a brand that offers great cars with remarkable technologies that make life a little easier, safer and more fun.”
