The North American based automaker Ford has recently introduced the Transit Custom ECOnetic ahead of its launch which has been scheduled for 2013.
According to the car manufacturer, the Ford Transit Custom ECOnetic is getting some interesting features like the Acceleration Control system which can limit how fast the model can accelerate and it will also cut down on the fuel consumption between 4 to 15 percent. The wear-and-tear on brakes will also be reduced, along with tires and other components. The Ford Transit Custom ECOnetic has been designed to appeal to business owners.
“Transit Custom already delivers great fuel economy and the new ECOnetic model pushes the bar higher, into the realm of the family cars. The Transit Custom ECOnetic is packed with advanced fuel-saving technologies that help businesses keep running costs to a minimum and reduce their carbon footprint”, said the vice president of Produce Development at Ford Europe, Barb Samardzich.
The Ford Transit Custom ECOnetic is powered by a 2.2 liter Duratorq diesel engine, which is producing a total output of 100 horsepower (74 kW), which is burning just 6.0 liters of fuel every 100 km (47.1 mpg UK / 39.2 mpg US), similar to other vehicles in the company’s aimed towards passengers. No details on pricing have been released just yet.
