Ford has officially unveiled the new Transit Prisoner Transport Vehicle Concept which is aimed, of course, to securely transporting prisoners between jails / prisons and police stations.
The North American based automaker Ford has officially pulled the wraps off its newest creation – the Transit Prisoner Transport Vehicle Concept, or PTV for short. The model in question is a one-off vehicle for the moment which is aimed to securely transporting prisoners between prisons, jails and police stations, as the company is explaining.
“The Transit PTV is the latest example of Ford’s deep commitment to helping provide law enforcement agencies with capable vehicles. This concept proves Transit is upfit-ready and designed to Built Ford Tough standards”, said Jonathan Honeycutt, the Ford police marketing manager.
The new Ford Transit Prisoner Transport Vehicle Concept has been jointly developed with Havis Prisoner Solutions and it is capable of carrying as many as 12 prisoners, in three separate compartments. It has police livery on its body, red and blue flashing lights, a special panel to control the gun locks or the flood lights, a police radio and several other features. More details on the one-off Ford PTV are limited for the moment and will be announced in the nearby future.
