We all know Ford has a special place in the hearts of British motoring fans, so it comes as no surprise the Focus RS Edition lands there first, priced from £35,795.
The special limited series model has bespoke styling, with a matte black roof and mirror caps, as well as rear roof spoiler – combined with the signature Nitrous Blue paint. The exterior touches are rounded up with the black cast 19-inch alloy wheels with RS caps, Brembo four-piston monoblock calipers painted RS blue and rear privacy glass. “Our new Focus RS Edition represents accessible performance at its finest,” said Leo Roeks, Ford Performance Director, Europe. “Improving on the class-leading driving dynamics of the Focus RS was no small task.” Inside, the Focus RS Edition features Recaro seats with unique Nitrous Blue leather applications, carbon fiber parts – auxiliary dials bezel, door handles and handbrake lever – along with additional standard equipment.
What really sets apart the RS Edition from the regular model is the addition of a Quaife limited slip differential for the front axle, integrated with the other standard mechanical features by Ford Performance for better traction and responsiveness. It works with the special AWD system, Dynamic Torque Vectoring and Torque Vectoring Control – the sprint to 62 mph (100 kph) takes just 4.7 seconds. “For hardcore driving enthusiasts, the additional mechanical grip offered by the Quaife LSD will make it even easier to carry speed through a corner on the track, and maximise acceleration on the way out. The new setup also delivers greater mechanical stability and control,” explains Roeks.
