Not very long ago, online in a carefully planned event, Audi has released the facelifted Audi A8/S8 range. On the floor at the 2013 IAA we have a head on encounter with the long-wheelbase version.
As we all know, the design of the refreshed model is not something to really talk about, as not much has changed, but we do acknowledge the fact that the new A8 has brought the incredible Matrix LED headlights (25 individual light-emitting diodes per unit which can be switched on/off individually depending on road conditions) and also the sequentially illuminated LED turn signals with 18 LEDs in the headlights and 24 LEDs in the taillights.
Not really the top of the line engine variant, as above the 4 liters V8 sits the massive A8L with the W12 engine, but still a variant worthy of our appreciation, the 4.0 TFSI variant outputs an impressive 435 hp (320 kW) from a twin-turbo configuration.
For the standard A8, dimensions have remained unchanged from the outgoing model: length is 5.14 meters, wheelbase is 2.99 meters, width is 1.95 meters and height is 1.46 meters. The A8L gains an additional 13 centimeters (5.12 in) in both length and wheelbase.
