The official replacement of the CL-Class, the brand new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe, has been officially unveiled, in concept form, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The unveil of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Concept is coming right after the model has been spied testing and after some sketches with it have hit the web. The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe is getting a front fascia similar to the one adopted by the CLA, with the elongated headlights and jutting grille, but the profile is making us remember the old CL-Class. The rear end of the model may have some influences from the SLS AMG, with the horizontal taillights, stubby decklid or broad rear haunches.
“The Concept S-Class Coupé combines tradition and emotion, and is a symbol for the embodiment of our design style of sensual clarity. The perfected design with self-assured style and the highly exclusive appointments make the coupé a true design icon and an expression of modern luxury”, said the Daimler AG Design vice president, Gorden Wagener.
The cabin of the S-Class Coupe Concept seems to be production-ready, with the designers being expected to make some relatively minor adjustments for when the model will be ready to hit dealerships. We notice the sportier and more fluidic styling, the 2+2 seat arrangement, the lower touch screen, the dual 12.3-inch display and a lot of the innovative technology from the regular S-Class Sedan, in its new generation.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Concept is powered by a 4.6 liter Biturbo V8 engine, which is producing a total output of 449 HP and 516 lb-ft of torque. This is believed to be the preview of the S550 Coupe. Additional details on the concept version of the new S-Class Coupe remain unknown for the moment, but you can check it out LIVE in Frankfurt in the photo gallery posted below.
