Originally presented at the Geneva Motor Show, the 3008 with its strange body, a combination between a compact crossover and an MPV in its Hybrid4 version has been revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The first diesel electric hybrid is scheduled to hit the production line soon and Peugeot says that its powered by a 2.0 liter HDi engine, delivering 163 horsepower to the front axle with a six-speed automatic transmission, and along with the electric motor, the 3008 Hybrid4 is producing a total of 200 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque.
According to the French automaker, the 3008 is burning only 3.8 liters of fuel every 100 kilometers while emitting an average CO2 of just 99 g/km. The “eco-friendly” vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.5 seconds with a regulated top speed of 191 km/h.
Peugeot says that the car can hit a top speed of 120km/h while driving on the diesel engine alone while traveling on the electric motor the 3008 can do about 4 kilometers.
The new Hybrid4 is scheduled to hit the UK dealerships in November this year but Peugeot didn’t announce an official starting price yet. One thing is for sure though; it will have to beat the popular new Toyota Prius.
